Getting to the temple

Three hundred metres.
About five minutes on foot.

That 300 metres is walking distance, not a drive. Kamagiri Nivas stands on the ridge directly above Maa Kamakhya Devalaya, and the way down is a short lane rather than the hill road.

So there is no parking to find and no queue of cars to sit in on a darshan morning. Step out of reception, follow the lane down past the shops, and you are at the temple gate in about five minutes — out early for the morning queue, back in time for breakfast.
